Course Description


Painting 1: A beginning college course in painting allows experimentation in oils, acrylics and watercolors. Projects are designed to provide experience in mixing colors, selection and application to surfaces of various types. Exercises are assigned which expand the thinking of the student as relates to the possibilities of creativity through the paint media. Supply purchase required. Studio fee required.

Students are expected to bring proper supplies with them to each class. This includes: paint, canvas or panel, brushes, containers for water, paper (when applicable), palette, cloths and any other supplies necessary to paint during class time.

We will be using water based paints due to the toxicity of oil paints. I will demostrate methods of mixing color and painting in class.
